Tips for Staying Healthy During Cold and Flu Season

Winter brings more than just snow and Holiday festivities; it also brings cold and flu season. With your co-workers coughing and sneezing all around you, it might seem impossible to stay healthy during this hectic time. It is possible to avoid getting sick if preventative measures are taken both at work and at home, so check out these tips on how to stay healthy this winter:

  1. Wash your hands: This tip might seem very obvious, but a little common sense can make a big difference. Washing your hands with hot water and soap is the most effective way to eliminate the spread of germs. It is also important to remember to wash your hands before you eat, so you don't ingest germs. Don't forget that in order to be most effective, you need to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.
  2. Keep hand sanitizer nearby: There are times when you aren't always able to go wash your hands, so keep some hand sanitizer with you because it is the next best thing. After applying your hand sanitizer, scrape your fingernails against your palm to kill any germs that are hiding out under your fingernails, too.
  3. Antibacterial wipes are your friend: When your co-workers cough and sneeze, those germs travel all over the office, working their way to your desk, computer, and work area. Keep a supply of antibacterial wipes on your desk and use them often. Wiping down your desk and computer mouse and keyboard is a good way to prevent picking up germs.
  4. Take care of your body: In addition to keeping your hands and work space clean, it is also important to give your body the vitamins and rest it needs in order to prevent getting sick. Be sure to get at least six to seven hours of sleep per night. Also eat healthy foods that give your body the vitamins it needs to keep your immune system strong, like fruits and vegetables, and drink at least eight glasses of water per day.
  5. Take a break: Finally, remember that taking small breaks are important. When you are feeling tired or sore, get up and stretch or walk around for a bit. Doing this will make you and your body feel better and more productive throughout the day.

It is inevitable that your co-workers will bring their cold and flu germs to the workplace, so it is important that you know how to avoid picking up their germs. Keep these tips in mind the next time you hear a cough or sniffle, and you will be on your way to preventing picking up a cold or the flu.

Upgrade Your Leasing Equipment for the New Year

As 2011 draws to a close and the possibilities of 2012 loom before us, now is the time to contemplate new business equipment. Banish budget limitations and preserve your credit lines with the help of equipment leasing. There are many different pieces of equipment that you can upgrade with equipment leasing, ranging from office furniture and software to medical equipment. Leasing allows you and your business to stay current with modern equipment and updated technology, while also offering you a variety of different financing solutions to choose from.

Leasing has many advantages over buying; it is financially beneficial, you only pay for what you use, it is flexible and if you end up wanting to buy your equipment, there are lease purchasing offers. To see more details about leasing, check out Advantages of Leasing your Business Equipment.

Often people don't realize the variety of equipment that is available to lease. It is a common belief that the only products available to lease are big things like vehicles, medical equipment, or delivery equipment, but this is false. There is a wide range of different products available to lease, such as software, computers, furniture, office equipment, and construction equipment. Just take a look at the Business Equipment Network from Tiger Leasing for a sneak peek at some of the leasing opportunities available to you.

We all know how quickly products like software, computers and technology become outdated. Within a few years of acquisition, it is almost a guarantee that there will be some new form of technology or equipment out there you will want instead of the one you have. With leasing you are able to upgrade your outdated product to the most current product that is available. When you buy equipment, are at risk of getting left behind and becoming outdated because you are committed to what you purchased, but leasing gives you the freedom to upgrade faster.

Take advantage of the perks of leasing; you are free to upgrade your equipment, whereas with buying, you are tied down to your purchase. Celebrate the New Year by upgrading your equipment for 2012!

How to Make Your Business Stand Out During the Holidays

As the holidays draw near, businesses should be thinking about what they can do to incorporate the holiday season in to their business strategy. There are many fun and easy ways that businesses can put themselves above the competition during this busy time, so check out these tips:

Give your online appearances a holiday makeover

Adding a seasonal touch to your company's Website, Blog or social media accounts is a good way to attract customers and let them know that your company is up to date with the changing season. On Websites and Blogs you can add a festive banner, on Facebook you can change your thumbnail picture, and on Twitter you can create a seasonal skin that can also incorporate your business's logo.

Your business can also take advantage of writing holiday related content for your online platforms. On your social media Websites, give your customer daily holiday tips, such as advice about holiday traveling, or information about your holiday sales. You may want to consider putting together a YouTube video to get the word out about holiday promotions, or simply create a festive video to relate to visitors and give your online brand a personal touch.

Hand write holiday cards to clients

In today's digital world, receiving anything handwritten in the mail is a rarity. Show your clients you appreciate their business by hand writing them a holiday card. Simply thanking clients conveys to them their importance and that you care enough about them to personally recognize them. In this case, a little thing, such as a handwritten card, goes a long way.

Tis the season to give back

The holidays are your business's opportunity to give back to your customers and show you appreciate their business. One of the ways that you can do this is to mail out or post coupons online for a holiday discount on your business's items or services. Coupons keep customers coming back, but they are also a good way to show you appreciate having them as a customer.

Another way to give back to your customers during the holidays is to offer free shipping. Everybody loves free shipping, regardless of what kind of product your business offers. Advertising free shipping is a great way to bring holiday customers in and inspire them to choose from what you have to offer.

The holidays are a great time for your business to take the extra measures to stand out from the crowd of competitors. The most successful companies are those that are willing to put themselves out there and try something new, rather than simply falling in line with the rest of the pack, so keep these tips in mind this holiday season!
