The leaves are colorful and crunchy, the days are shorter and temperatures are dropping. Fall is upon us! At Tiger Leasing, we love everything about the fall, especially pumpkins! You might think that pumpkins are only for carving, but there are tons of other fun things you can do with them, too. From decorating to feasting, check out this list of things you can do or make with your pumpkins this fall:
In order to get creative you need to have a pumpkin first, right? If you have the yard space, why not try planting some pumpkins? It's too late in the year for planting now, but you can always plant them next year! The time of year for planting depends on the temperatures in your state. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, people in northern states need to plant pumpkins by late May and people in southern states need to plant them in early July.
Carve a Pumpkin
If you feel like getting your hands dirty, it's pumpkin carving time! Will your pumpkin sport a scary face, a silly face, or something else? Don't forget to share your pumpkin carving skills with us on our Facebook page!
Bake Pumpkin Seeds
After you carve your pumpkin, don't throw away the goop you carved out. Go through the goop, sort out the seeds and roast them. Here is a quick and easy recipe for toasted pumpkin seeds from Simply Recipes.
Paint a Pumpkin
Maybe you want to get in the Halloween spirit but don't want to deal with the mess of carving a pumpkin? Paint your pumpkin instead! Use your pumpkin as a canvas to paint your favorite movie character, paint stripes or polka dots, or use chalkboard paint to display messages. The possibilities are endless!
Display Pumpkins Outside
Having a few pumpkins on your porch instantly gives your house some festive curb appeal. Whether they are plain, carved or have been converted to lanterns with the help of a candle, your pumpkins will look great.
Feature Pumpkins Inside
A few small to mid-sized pumpkins can be the perfect finishing touch in your home for the fall. Decorate a pumpkin to match your living room or carve the insides out and add a large candle or floral arrangement to turn your pumpkin into a centerpiece for your dining room table.
Pumpkin Flavored Goodies
From pumpkin pie to pumpkin-flavored coffee drinks, there are so many delicious festive treats to enjoy this time of year. If you like pumpkin, be sure to enjoy at least one tasty pumpkin treat this season!
